Ashavalli Brocades

This collection of stoles was developed during craft documentation of the craft Asavali weaving in Ridrol,Gujarat, sponsored by the Development Commissioner(Handicrafts) of India. Asavalli brocades are differentiated from other brocades by their intricate meenakari work which is the outline of the designs done on-loom. The motifs are inspired from the mughal art.
This project was a result of collective effort by Aashi Verma, Ayushi Poddar, Avijit Das, Chinmayee Kulkarni, Ronak Mistry
